MOSCOW, Aug 18 (Reuters) - Russian Tu-95MS nuclear-capable strategic bombers have completed a four-hour routine patrol flight over international waters in the Barents Sea, TASS news agency reported on Monday, citing the Russian Defence Ministry.
Initially, Russian news agencies including TASS reported that foreign fighter jets had been scrambled to track the Russian flight.
But the news agencies then reissued their reports, omitting any mention of foreign fighter jets being scrambled. The Interfax news agency, which also reported about foreign fighter jets being scrambled, withdrew its report and reissued it.
