PARIS, Aug 16 (Reuters) - It is essential to continue supporting Ukraine and putting pressure on Russia, French president Emmanuel Macron said in a statement on X on Saturday following the meeting between U.S. President Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin in Alaska.
He said that France will work with the U.S. and partners in the "Coalition of the Willing" to make progress on a lasting peace with security guarantees.
That coalition will meet in the near future, Macron said.
