BEIJING, Aug 15 (Reuters) - China's central bank pledged on Friday to help bring about a reasonable pace of price growth, saying it will make it an important consideration when setting monetary policy.
"We should make good use of structural monetary policy tools to intensify support for scientific and technological innovation, boost consumption, support small and micro enterprises and stabilize foreign trade," the bank said in its second-quarter monetary policy implementation report.
China faces persistent deflationary pressures as factory-gate prices have been declining for more than two years.
