Exclusive: Burns & Wilcox strengthens Michigan team with Shalay's return and new hires

Aug 14 - (The Insurer) - Burns & Wilcox has strengthened its Michigan operations with the appointment of Taras Shalay as associate managing director, alongside the addition of a new team of professional liability and commercial brokers.

Shaylay returns to Burns & Wilcox after a six-year tenure at Jencap, where he served as senior vice president for the Midwest region. His previous experience at Burns & Wilcox spanned five years until 2017.

Earlier in his career, Shalay held roles at Special Risks Facilities and Allied Insurance Managers. He brings experience in D&O, E&O, EPLI and cyber and privacy liability and will report to managing director Brett Faustman.

Joining Shalay is a new team of professional liability and commercial brokers who will service clients across Michigan, while working alongside their Burns & Wilcox colleagues throughout the Midwest.

The new team includes Tyler Hayden, as a broker; Chantal Grumski, as senior commercial lines broker; Andre Bridges, as senior commercial lines underwriter; and Maria Rojo, as senior associate broker.

A Burns & Wilcox spokesperson confirmed the appointments.
