US Treasury chief says Trump could leverage sanctions at Putin meeting

WASHINGTON, Aug 13 (Reuters) - U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent on Wednesday said sanctions or secondary tariffs could grow if President Donald Trump's meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin does not go well, calling on European leaders to also leverage sanctions.
"He will make it clear to President Putin that all options are on the table," Bessent told Bloomberg Television in an interview.
