
WASHINGTON, July 23 (Reuters) - The White House on Wednesday said the up to $550 billion package of U.S.-bound investment and loans agreed with Japan will be spent at President Donald Trump's discretion.
White House spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt said the deal was negotiated up from an initial $400 billion commitment and would focus on key industries like energy, semiconductors, critical minerals, pharmaceuticals and shipbuilding.
