July 18 - (The Insurer) - Laure Forgeron, chief underwriting officer for casualty at Swiss Re, is leaving the reinsurer.
A spokesperson for Swiss Re confirmed to The Insurer that Forgeron’s last day with the company is July 18.
“We wish her all the best in her future endeavors,” a statement from the company said.
The Insurer understands that Forgeron is taking on a role at another company.
Forgeron has been head of casualty underwriting since April 2023, based in Armonk, New York. She was responsible for the underwriting performance of Swiss Re’s global casualty business.
Before taking that role, Forgeron led the P&C facultative EMEA underwriting team and was based in Zurich.
Forgeron joined Swiss Re in 2009 as a casualty treaty underwriter. Her time at the reinsurer has also included roles as globals client manager and head of the Western Europe casualty treaty team.
Andrea Scascighini, head casualty portfolio analytics and steering, will assume Forgeron’s role as casualty CUO on an interim basis.
“Andrea brings deep technical expertise and a proven track record in casualty, rooted in multiple decades of dedication to this line of business,” the statement from the company said. “This transition underscores the strength and depth of Swiss Re’s talent, and our ability to maintain leadership continuity within the organization.”
