Marcos' U.S. visit aims to boost Philippines-U.S. alliance, says foreign ministry

MANILA, July 18 (Reuters) - Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos Jr's visit to the United States next week is aimed at strengthening the alliance between the two nations, Manila's foreign ministry said on Friday.
The visit will also stress the importance of the Philippines strengthening its economy to be a robust partner for the United States, with Marcos expected to discuss Washington's proposed higher tariffs on Philippine exports.
