U.S. informed EU of tariff letter in advance, says EU spokesperson

BRUSSELS, July 12 (Reuters) - The United States informed the European Union of the letter announcing 30% tariffs on EU goods in advance, a spokesperson for the European Commission said on Saturday.

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen has warned of countermeasures if the U.S. tariffs go ahead.
