Volante marine and energy treaty head Martin exits for GIC 1947

July 9 - (The Insurer) - Volante's marine and energy treaty head David Martin has resigned to join GIC Re Syndicate 1947, two senior marine reinsurance sources told The Insurer.
Martin is set to take up a senior marine reinsurance position at Syndicate 1947, one senior marine reinsurance broking source said.
He joined Volante in August 2024 to lead the development of its marine treaty book, which was expected to write more than 30 million pounds ($40.8 million) in gross premiums in its first year.
Martin previously worked as a marine and energy reinsurance underwriter at Westfield Specialty.
Volante declined to comment. Syndicate 1947 said it was "not available for comment".
