Axis adds The Hartford’s Woods as head of marine hull and liabilities

July 8 - (The Insurer) - Axis Capital has appointed Avery Woods from The Hartford as its new head of marine hull and liabilities.

Based in New York, Woods joins Axis after five years at The Hartford, where he most recently served as managing director, Northeast branch manager for ocean marine.

His previous experience includes seven years as an underwriter for hull and liability at RLI, and two years as a marine underwriter for CV Starr.

As part of the U.S. ocean marine team, Woods will be responsible for developing Axis' marine hull and liabilities portfolio.
