Relation buys entertainment specialist Albert G Ruben from Aon

June 26 - (The Insurer) - Relation Insurance Services has acquired retail entertainment insurance brokerage Albert G Ruben from Aon.
In a statement confirming the deal, the Aquiline-backed intermediary described Albert G Ruben as a pioneer in Hollywood and the global entertainment sector, providing specialized insurance services to major film studios, independent production companies, Broadway and multinational corporations.
The Albert G Ruben name has been retained with the transaction, along with its leadership team, including managing director George Walden and senior vice president John Galanis.
Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Aon added to its entertainment sector-focused capabilities with its acquisition of NFP last year. Eric Boester is head of sports and entertainment at NFP.
Relation CEO Tim Hall said: “Albert G Ruben has been a trusted leader in entertainment risk management for 65 years, earning the confidence of their clients and building a strong reputation in the industry.

In the statement, Relation said that the acquired company’s proprietary platforms and “industry-leading” consulting services will remain a cornerstone of its offerings, delivering tailored solutions to the entertainment sector.
It added that clients in the entertainment sector would also benefit from Relation’s specialized capabilities and commitment to client service.
Walden commented: “Relation’s personalized, relationship-driven approach aligns seamlessly with our commitment to delivering exceptional service. Their dedication to fostering collaboration and preserving the culture that has been integral to our success gives our clients and employees confidence in this transition.”
Relation is a top 25 U.S. retail brokerage offering risk management and benefits consulting services nationwide. Hall took over from Joe Tatum as CEO two years ago.
