Ergo eyes Nordic growth with Ergo Forsikring AS merger

June 24 - (The Insurer) - Munich Re's Ergo Group has consolidated its presence in the Nordic region with the merger of Ergo Forsikring AS and Europæiske Rejseforsikring A/S.
Danish travel insurance company Europæiske Rejseforsikring and Norwegian health insurance business Ergo Forsikring (formerly known as Storebrand Helseforsikring AS) were combined to form Ergo Forsikring A/S.
Ergo Forsikring A/S is focused on providing comprehensive healthcare and travel insurance solutions to both corporate and retail customers across Denmark, Norway and Sweden. Ergo said the merged company will benefit from joint distribution networks and existing business relationships to further expand its local market presence.
Headquartered in Copenhagen, Ergo Forsikring A/S currently counts 176 employees across the Nordic region. In the 2024 financial year, its predecessor companies Ergo Forsikring AS and Europæiske Rejseforsikring A/S generated gross written premiums of around 118 million euros and 44 million euros, respectively.
