Germany's defence spending rise is about deterrence, minister says

BERLIN, June 24 (Reuters) - Germany's increase in defence spending is about both deterrence and defence, Defence Minister Boris Pistorius said on Tuesday, ahead of the NATO summit in The Hague.
Germany will raise defence spending to 3.5% of economic output by 2029 funded through a nearly 400 billion euro borrowing programme.
