Gallagher hires Bijl to expand transactional risk services across Europe

June 18 - (The Insurer) - Gallagher has hired Henk Bijl from Aon to launch a transactional risks offering in Europe.
Bijl spent 25 years with Aon’s M&A and transaction solutions practice, including the past 11 as managing director of the Benelux region.
He will be based in Amsterdam for the new role, reporting to Nepomuk Loesti, chief commercial officer for the region.
Gallagher said Europe was currently seeing a strong M&A market, which is expected to continue to grow.
The broker said it will now offer products and services for corporate transactions including warranty and indemnity insurance, tax liability insurance and contingent liability insurance in the region.
Recent Gallagher appointments to its pan-European financial lines team include tax specialist Joyce Koch, who joined in October last year, and cyber head Aldo Borsani, who joined in July 2024.
