Bessent says US-China trade talks ongoing, will continue as needed
LONDON, June 10 (Reuters) - U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said on Tuesday that trade talks with Chinese officials in London were ongoing, and that they would continue as needed.
Bessent told reporters in London, where the talks are taking place, that he would return to Washington for a prior commitment but U.S. Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick and Trade Representative Jamieson Greer would continue the talks.
"I have to go back to Washington to testify before Congress tomorrow," he told reporters. "We have had two days of productive talks. They are ongoing. My colleagues, Secretary Lutnick and Ambassador Greer, are going to be continuing as needed with the Chinese delegation."
