White House to send Congress more rescission requests if initial package passes
June 4 (Reuters) - The White House hopes to send additional packages of deep government spending cuts if its initial request to Congress passes, Russell Vought, director of the Office of Management and Budget said on Wednesday in a call with reporters.
"This is the first rescissions package," Vought said, referring to a proposal sent to lawmakers on Tuesday to codify $9.4 billion in cuts instituted by DOGE to foreign aid and public broadcasting.
"We hope to send additional packages if they pass," Vought said.
