June 3 - (The Insurer) - London (re)insurance broker Miller has completed its acquisition of AHJ Holdings, the parent of specialist brokers Alwen Hough Johnson and AHJ Europe, the company announced on Tuesday.
Miller said the transaction, which was announced in February, closed on June 2 after receiving all necessary regulatory approvals.
Founded in 1973, AHJ is a specialist reinsurance broker focused on P&C and marine and energy. It employs 90 staff across London and Scandinavia.
In the statement on Tuesday, Miller said the acquisition provides it with significant scale and capability in treaty reinsurance, as well as access to AHJ's footprint in Nordic, Caribbean and North American treaty business.
The Miller and AHJ teams will operate under the trade name of AHJ Miller, jointly led by Gary Masters and Shaun Sinniah as CEO and president respectively.
"We are continuing to develop our reinsurance offering at pace and the acquisition of AHJ marks a significant step in that journey," said Sinniah, who also serves as head of reinsurance and capital at Miller.
"This strengthens our reinsurance platform and amplifies our entire offering by bringing together highly complementary talent, market access and client solutions."
