Bessent doesn't expect US Senate to change House budget bill much
WASHINGTON, May 23 (Reuters) - U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said on Friday that he did not expect many changes from the Senate on the sweeping tax and spending bill that narrowly passed the House of Representatives a day ago.
"I'm not expecting that there's going to have to be that much change. I respect Senator (Ron) Johnson's position that we do have to get our finances in order, and that's a combination of controlling spending, but also growing the economy," Bessent said in an interview with Fox News.
