US will issue initial waivers on Syria sanctions, says Rubio

ANTALYA, Turkey, May 15 (Reuters) - U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio said on Thursday that Washington will issue initial waivers on statutory sanctions against Syria, after Trump announced that all sanctions against the country will be lifted.
Speaking to reporters in Antalya, Turkey, Rubio said the U.S. wants to do everything it can to help achieve a peaceful, stable Syria as the country emerges from 13 years of war.
