May 15 - (The Insurer) - Aon veteran Lambros Lambrou has been appointed chief strategy officer at the company with immediate effect, with an internal search initiated to replace the executive’s previous role as CEO of human capital.
In a statement confirming the appointment, Aon said Lambrou will take on responsibility for key Aon executive committee initiatives that are at the core of its Aon United strategy and 3x3 plan.
These include support of its “independent and connected” strategy with middle-market US retail broker NFP, which Aon acquired a year ago.
Aon said Lambrou will work closely with NFP CEO Doug Hammond and his leadership team to “further reinforce points of connection” that it said are aimed at bringing the best of Aon and NFP to the broker’s clients.
Both Lambrou and Hammond will continue to report to Aon CEO Greg Case.
Commenting on the appointment, Case said: “In collaboration with NFP’s leadership team and colleagues, Lambros will build on the momentum we have created together in the first year of our NFP partnership, as we deliver shared and distinctive content and capability to our clients.”
Before taking on the human capital leadership role two years ago in a restructure that also saw Andy Marcell appointed CEO of risk capital, Lambrou was Aon’s global CEO of commercial risk.
Other roles he has held at the firm include chief commercial officer and CEO of global specialties for commercial risk solutions.
According to his LinkedIn profile, Lambrou has been at Aon and its predecessor companies since 1986.
