Fidelis Partnership lines up former Swiss Re CorSo deputy aviation head Urquhart

May 15 - (The Insurer) - Former Swiss Re Corporate Solutions deputy head of aviation Alastair Urquhart has agreed to join the Fidelis Partnership, three senior aviation market sources told The Insurer.
Two senior aviation market sources said Urquhart agreed to join the Fidelis Partnership this week. This publication could not confirm exactly when he will start his new position.
Urquhart will join from Swiss Re, where he led the London direct aviation operations. The Swiss reinsurer exited direct aviation in February 2025 to focus on its aviation reinsurance business.
Prior to Swiss Re, Urquhart was aviation class underwriter at MS Amlin. He has also held underwriting roles at Catlin and Wellington Underwriting.
The Fidelis Partnership's aviation unit has recently been bolstered by the hire of Peter Welton as head of specialty, following the exits of airlines head Abi Wilkins and former aviation and space head Jamie Cann in 2024.
Fidelis Partnership and Swiss Re declined to comment.
