Trump says he will be making a major announcement before departing on Middle East trip

WASHINGTON, May 6 (Reuters) - U.S. President Donald Trump said on Tuesday that he planned to make a major announcement in the coming days before his departure for the Middle East but he declined to say what the topic would be about.
Trump, speaking during a meeting with Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney at the White House, said the announcement would be very positive and could come Thursday, Friday or Monday. Trump's administration has been negotiating trade deals with a number of countries.
