May 2 (Reuters) - Marco Rubio is expected to serve as both the U.S. secretary of state and national security adviser for a minimum of six months, and some top advisers to President Donald Trump are interested in making the arrangement permanent, Politico reported on Friday, citing three White House officials.
Trump ousted his national security adviser Mike Waltz on Thursday and named Rubio as his interim replacement in the first major shakeup of Trump's inner circle since he took office in January.
