May 1 (Reuters) - China wants to meet and talk on trade and discussions will come up soon, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio told Fox News' Hannity Program on Thursday.
"Our Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent is involved in those efforts, and their talks will come up soon," he said, adding that there was a question about how much the United States should buy from China going forward.
A social media account affiliated with Chinese state media said on Thursday that the United States has approached China seeking talks over President Donald Trump's 145% tariffs.
