April 29 (Reuters) - Canada's TD Securities named Dan Charney as head of global markets, transitioning from his current co-head role, according to an internal memo seen by Reuters on Tuesday.
Charney, who joined TD Cowen as head of equities in 2012, has been a key figure in the expansion of the firm's equity business. He will assume his new leadership role on May 1, the memo said.
Chris Vogel, who currently serves alongside Charney as co-head of global markets, will be departing the company. Vogel, who joined TD in 2017, will remain with the firm until October in an advisory capacity to ensure a smooth leadership transition.
The executive change comes as TD has designated 2025 as a transition year , with the company focusing on restructuring its balance sheet.
