- (The Insurer) - NEC Specialty has launched a New York contractors general liability program on Clear Blue Insurance Company paper with Stonybrook Capital and Risk Management serving as exclusive broker to the MGA on the transaction.

Garden City, New York-based NEC Specialty focuses on the artisan contractors and general contractor markets, offering general liability coverage. The MGA is led by Robert Mangi as CEO.

The new program is being written on the AM Best A-minus rated paper of Clear Blue Insurance Company.

Jessica James, chief business development officer, Clear Blue Insurance Company, said the program will "support NEC’s continued growth in the New York contractor space."

Stonybrook partner Paul Dzielinski highlighted the potential challenges of starting a new general liability insurance program in New York.

"The team at Clear Blue, and the support of reinsurers made for a smooth process from conception to launch. Stonybrook is appreciative of Rob's confidence and support of our efforts to reach a successful conclusion," he said.
