- Federal Reserve Governor Christopher Waller said Thursday it won’t be until the latter half of the year before the U.S. central bank gets some clarity on how tariffs are affecting the economy, suggesting the policymaker sees no imminent need to change the current setting of monetary policy.

With the postponement of some of the biggest tariffs until summer, “I don't think you're going to see enough happen in the real data in the next couple of months, until you get past July,” Waller said in a Bloomberg interview. “When you get to the second half of the year, I think we'll start having better ideas what's going to happen with the tariff world that the administration is considering.”
