April 15 (Reuters) - Albertsons ACI.N forecast annual profit below estimates on Tuesday as the grocery chain echoed other retailers' on expectations for the year as American consumers turn cautious due to still-high inflation and macroeconomic uncertainty.
The company, which is being counter-sued by bigger rival Kroger KR.N after their botched $25-billion merger, expects annual profit of $2.03 to $2.16 per share, compared with an estimate of a 0.5% decline to $2.28 per share, according to data compiled by LSEG.
