French PM Bayrou: we must stick to our deficit reduction targets

PARIS, April 15 (Reuters) - French Prime Minister Francois Bayrou said it was paramount that France sticks to its public deficit reduction target and for it to reach 3% of gross domestic product as planned in 2029.
"What is at stake is the survival of our country, its independence as well as civil peace," Bayrou told a news conference on the 2026 budget on Tuesday.
