China accuses US of shifting blame on shipbuilding industry advantage

BEIJING, April 10 (Reuters) - China said on Thursday that the United States' accusation that China was to blame for it losing its competitive advantage in the shipping industry had no factual basis.
U.S. studies show that its shipbuilding industry lost its competitive advantage many years ago, ministry spokesperson Lin Jian said at a press conference, without specifying which studies.
U.S. President Donald Trump signed an executive order on Wednesday aimed at reviving U.S. shipbuilding and reducing China's grip on the global shipping industry.
