April 8 (Reuters) - U.S. traffic deaths fell 3.8% in 2024 to 39,345 people killed -- the lowest number since 2020, but fatalities remain above pre-COVID levels, a federal agency said Tuesday.
Last year marks the first time since 2020 they have dropped below 40,000 but are still drastically higher than 2019, when 36,355 people were killed, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said.
