
BRASILIA, April 3 (Reuters) - Brazil's Vice-President Geraldo Alckmin said on Thursday that a a technical team is set to discuss tariffs with U.S. counterparts next week, a day after the United States announced a 10% tariff on its imports from Brazil.
Speaking to regional news outlet Folha de Pernambuco, Alckmin said the tariffs "were still a negative" despite being the minimum level of 10%. He also said the global tariffs could accelerate a planned trade deal between the European Union and the South American trade bloc Mercosur.
