Apollo names ex-Hiscox Re CEO Krefta as non-exec director

April 1 - (The Insurer) - Lloyd's insurer Apollo has appointed Mike Krefta as non-executive director of Apollo Syndicate Management.

The appointment is subject to regulatory approval.

Krefta previously spent 17 years at Hiscox, latterly as CEO of Hiscox Re & ILS in Bermuda. In this role, he was responsible for driving strategy across Bermuda, London and Paris teams.

Other previous roles include chief underwriting officer at Hiscox Re.

Since departing Hiscox in early 2021, Krefta most recently founded Meadow Consulting Limited, a (re)insurance consulting business specialising in business strategy, risk management, product development, ILS and ESG practices.
