EU's Costa says bloc wants to avoid trade escalation, open to talks

BERLIN, March 12 (Reuters) - EU Council President Antonio Costa on Wednesday said the European Union was open to talking with the United States about any trade imbalances and stressed the importance of de-escalation.

"We need to avoid an escalation," Costa told reporters during a visit to Berlin.

"The good way to solve problems is to talk and to address the problems and find solutions, and we are open for this," he added.
