CelsiusPro's Global Parametrics adds Descartes' Jacob for London market expansion

March 10 - (The Insurer) - Global Parametrics, a CelsiusPro Group company, has announced the hire of Ola Jacob.
Jacob has worked in the London market for over 13 years, holding roles at parametric specialists FloodFlash and Descartes Underwriting. He was most recently Descartes' director of business development for the UK and Ireland.
In his new role as London market business development director, Jacob will work on expanding CelsiusPro Group's parametric solutions in the London market, covering both the public and private sector.
Global Parametrics was founded in 2016 with early investment from the German and UK governments to help vulnerable populations recover from natural disasters. It was acquired by CelsiusPro in 2023 and continues to manage the Natural Disaster Fund, a government-backed risk transfer fund which shares risks with Hannover Re.
