March 9 (Reuters) - U.S. President Donald Trump said on Sunday a government shutdown "probably won't" happen and that he thinks the House of Representatives will have enough votes to pass a bill to fund the government through September 30.
"It could happen. It shouldn't have happened, and it probably won't. I think the CR is going to get passed," Trump said when asked whether there is going to be a government shutdown this week.
He was referring to the bill, a continuing resolution, or CR, that would fund the government at current levels for the remainder of fiscal year 2025.
