WASHINGTON, March 4 (Reuters) - Russia has offered to serve as a mediator between the United States and Iran, a source briefed on the discussions told Reuters on Tuesday, adding that Moscow was not asked to take up such a role.
Russia's state-run Zvezda media outlet reported earlier on Tuesday, citing Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, that President Vladimir Putin had agreed to mediate between Tehran and Washington in talks over nuclear weapons.
