Specialty MGA hires Hussain for political and credit risk launch

March 4 - (The Insurer) - Specialty MGA UK has expanded into the political and credit risk market with Amir Hussain appointed to lead its entry into the class.

The London-based MGA said Hussain would initially focus on market outreach before looking to grow the team and increase market capacity over time.

Hussain most recently spent three years as a senior underwriter for political and credit risk at Africa Specialty Risks.

He has also held underwriting roles at Hamilton, AmTrust and Brit, as well as senior positions at ANZ, EY and Barclays.

Specialty MGA’s move has added to recent launches in the market, including MS Amlin’s addition of a political and credit risk insurance offering in the Middle East and North Africa.
