Feb 28 (Reuters) - Uruguayan midfielder Nicolas Fonseca was unharmed despite being a victim of a car theft on his way to training in Jalisco, Mexico, his team Club Leon said on Friday.
According to the club, Fonseca's vehicle was stolen near the Lagos de Moreno highway in the northern Mexican state on Thursday morning.
"Nico is fine and is training regularly with his teammates in preparation for tomorrow's game," the club said in a statement.
"I am very well, thank you all for your messages of affection and support," Fonseca said on social media, and is expected to play against Xolos de Tijuana on Saturday.
