Feb 24 - (The Insurer) - Scor has appointed Vikas Mahajan as head of agriculture, succeeding René Kunz, who is set to retire after 20 years with the company.
Based in Zurich, Mahajan will take on the new role effective May 1. As part of his new role, he will join Scor's reinsurance specialty lines management team, and will report to head of specialty lines Eric Jenck.
With over 20 years of experience in the reinsurance industry, Mahajan joined Scor in 2019 as senior underwriter. He transferred to Cologne in 2023 as a member of the Nordics team. Before Scor, he held various roles at J B Boda & Co, Swiss Re and GIC Re.

With extensive international experience and a proven track record of managing diverse markets and client bases, he brings invaluable expertise to his new role. I have every confidence in his ability to ensure the continued success and innovative development of the agriculture business line at Scor," Jenck said.
Kunz joined Scor P&C in 2006 as CUO for agriculture. Previously, he served as deputy head of agriculture at GE Insurance Solutions. He will stay on at Scor until July to support the transition.

(His) key contributions have been instrumental to the success of the agriculture team. Under his expert leadership, the team has navigated complex situations and emerged stronger," Jenck said.
Earlier in February, Scor named former Allianz executive Holger Schaefer as global head of casualty and environmental impairment liability within its large corporate risks insurance arm Scor Business Solutions, The Insurer reported.
