China backs 'recent consensus' reached by US, Russia on Ukraine war, minister says

BEIJING, Feb 21 (Reuters) - Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi on Thursday told a Group of 20 meeting in South Africa that "China supports all efforts conducive to peace (in Ukraine), including the recent consensus achieved by the United States and Russia."
"China is willing to continue playing a constructive role in the political resolution, based on the needs of the parties involved and the concerns of the international community," a statement from his ministry released early on Friday said.
