Bank of Canada announces appointment of second external deputy governor

OTTAWA, Feb 11 (Reuters) - The Bank of Canada on Tuesday said Michelle Alexopoulos would serve a two-year term as the central bank's second external deputy governor, starting March 17.
In a statement, the bank said Alexopoulos's research focused on the business cycle as well as the effects of technical change and uncertainty.
