Feb 10 - (The Insurer) - The Managing General Agents' Association (MGAA) has unveiled its new strategic vision and mission for 2025, including a renewed focus on high-level advocacy and next-generation talent development.
The MGAA's full members represent more than £15.1bn of underwriting capacity, supported by 64 market practitioner members and 142 supplier members.
Alongside a refreshed brand identity, the MGAA said 2025 marks a "milestone year" in its development, with the updated mission highlighting its role as an accessible, collaborative resource for members.
The mission is focused on networking and education, with the body continuing to provide members with forums, events, and training opportunities to foster networking, industry knowledge and innovation.
High-level advocacy efforts will be focused on amplifying the voice of MGAs on critical industry issues, including regulatory challenges and market opportunities, with the MGAA also aiming to become the leading aggregator of data-driven trends and statistics in the MGA sector.
The MGAA next gen committee will remain focused on talent development, with its objectives including representing young professionals within the MGA sector, fostering training and education, creating networking opportunities through educational and social events, and contributing to MGAA initiatives and market projects.
Commenting on the new mission, Michael Keating, CEO of the MGAA, said: “In 2025, we aim to further elevate our role as the trusted source in providing an improving range of member benefits which both meet the needs of all members today as well as addressing and identifying new opportunities and challenges.
“The MGA community continues to thrive and the MGAA remains committed and focused to serve and assist all our members in meeting their business objectives.”
Julia Coakley, COO of the MGAA, added: “The MGA sector is a vibrant, growing community of forward-thinkers and problem-solvers. Through initiatives like MGAA Next Gen, we are not only shaping the future of the MGA sector but also cultivating socially conscious and highly knowledgeable professionals.”
