ISTANBUL, March 25 (Reuters) - Here are news, reports and events that may affect Turkish financial markets on Wednesday.
The lira TRYTOM=D3 was quoted at 44.3575 against the U.S. dollar at 0427 GMT, compared with a close of 44.34 on Tuesday.
The BIST 100 index closed 1.8% lower at 12,930.16 points on Tuesday.
GLOBAL MARKETS
Stocks rose and oil fell on Wednesday on reports the U.S. is seeking a month-long ceasefire in its war on Iran, and had sent a 15-point plan to Iran for discussion, raising hopes for a resumption of oil exports out of the Persian Gulf.
ENERGY FLOWS
The energy minister, Alparslan Bayraktar, said there are no problems with natural gas flow from war-hit Iran and that Turkey's storage facilities are 71% full, when asked about an earlier media report that flows had stopped. Bayraktar will speak on a programme on state-run Anadolu Agency on Wednesday to elaborate (0715 GMT).
IRAN WAR
President Tayyip Erdogan said Turkey will continue working with all its resources to establish peace in the Iran war, the fallout of which has hit the Turkish economy. He added on Tuesday the state was considering various measures to further protect the economy. Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani thanked Erdogan in a phone call for efforts aimed at regional de-escalation.
SECTORAL INFLATION DATA
The central bank will announce the sectoral inflation expectations and household expectations survey for March (0700 GMT).
PARLIAMENT SPEAKER
Grand National Assembly Speaker Numan Kurtulmus will meet Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic in Croatia and address the Three Seas Initiative Parliamentary Summit, where he will also meet Lithuanian Parliament Speaker Juozas Olekas.
