BRASILIA, July 29 (Reuters) - A representative from the U.S. Department of Commerce was present in a meeting between the Brazilian government and executives from U.S. tech giants, Brazilian Vice President Geraldo Alckmin said on Tuesday.
U.S. President Donald Trump is set to levy 50% tariffs on imports of Brazilian goods, citing in part "unfair trade practices" by Brazil, particularly on U.S. companies' digital trade.
Alckmin told journalists in Brasilia that the tech executives had discussed legal security and regulations and that a working group would be established between the companies and the government.
