CORRECTED-Bank of Mexico lowers key interest rate to 8.5%
MEXICO CITY, May 15 (Reuters) - The Bank of Mexico lowered its benchmark interest rate by 50 basis points to 8.50% on Thursday, as inflation remains within the bank's target range, saying it could continue cutting by a similar magnitude at future monetary policy meetings.
The decision by the central bank's five-member governing board was unanimous.
