Trade envoys of South Korea and China discuss economic partnership
SEOGWIPO, South Korea, May 15 (Reuters) - South Korea's top trade envoy said on Thursday he discussed the importance of economic partnership with China's chief trade negotiator Li Chenggang who highlighted Beijing's commitment to the multilateral trade regime and global supply chain.
Cheong In-kyo spoke to reporters ahead of a gathering of Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) member countries held ahead of the onset of more U.S. tariffs.
Cheong declined to comment on whether foreign exchange policies would be included in South Korea trade negotiations with the United States, adding many of the policy measures Washington was looking at are far outside the scope of traditional trade policies.
