Japan finance minister preparing to attend G7, Bessent meeting possible
TOKYO, May 13 (Reuters) - Japanese Finance Minister Katsunobu Kato said on Tuesday that he is preparing to attend the meetings next week of the Group of Seven economic powers in Canada, where he also hopes to have a bilateral meeting with his U.S. counterpart.
Speaking at a regular press conference, Kato said if the meeting with Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent goes ahead, they could discuss U.S. tariffs.
