LONDON, April 4 (Reuters) - Currency trading volumes hit their highest since the COVID-19 pandemic on CME Group's widely used electronic broking services (EBS) platform on Thursday, the company said on Friday.
CME said volumes hit $147 billion on EBS on Thursday, the highest since March 19, 2020, highlighting the frantic market activity in response to U.S. President Donald Trump's sweeping tariffs.
It also said currency trading in futures, options and cash markets amounted to $326 billion, with volume in the euro-dollar pair at $122 billion, roughly double the year-to-date average.
